Resolutions....Smesolutions

If you ask me, it doesn't seem right that you make New Year's Resolution right before the grayest, least inspiring time of the year....January and February.  Baby New Year is just setting us up for failure.

Bad....Bad

blogger. Can't believe it has been 10 days since my last post.  It would be great if I had a really, really good excuse for my lack of blogging (and my lack of housekeeping), but I will chalk it up to sheer laziness and the winter doldrums. 

Rooms have been rearranged.  Things are being thrown out left and right.  Light boxes are being envied.  WHY IS THERE NO SUNSHINE???  Really starting to get a girl down. 

But enough complaining.....over the weekend we trekked outside and discovered that WILL LOVES SNOW!  I have never seen a baby throw himself into the snow happily......throw snowballs....joyously slide down the hill and trudge back up.  It's quite amazing. Here's a glimpse of our outdoor excursion.

But then again, I think that is a highly motivational factor for me as well.

'Twas a lovely holiday season.  Snow on Christmas.  Relatively healthy family (couple of colds and sinus infections).  Kids behaving and playing nicely.   Yippee.  It was grand.

New Year's resolutions per Ethan and Ben.... "We will play nicely....and if there is a problem, we will work it out."   I will embroider that onto a pillow that I can throw at them when a reminder is needed.

Big Week in News for Our Family

Aside from Ben's newpaper debut, my sister-in-law, Jen, and niece Sarah, attended President Obama's signing of the Nutrition Bill.  Check it out Jen and Sarah

Jen is sitting right in the back between the President and Michelle.  She has long dark hair and is dressed in black.  Sarah is over on the left, top row and you can't see her until the end, but resembles her mother, tall with dark hair.

Pretty cool.  I guess a benefit to living in Washington DC is being a part of the action.
